Our History

Alliant/First Assist has been a healthcare staffing leader since 1986. Mary Richardson, an Operating Room Nurse, founded First Assist in the Washington, DC area after noticing a critical need for supplemental operating room staff. As the healthcare market changed, First Assist expanded its business throughout the U.S. to include all specialties of medical personnel by offering per diem, contract, travel, temp to perm and career staffing options. We are glad and humbled that so many people are part of the First Assist team.

Our Services

We pride ourselves on providing a rapid response to client needs, driving delivery of care to consistently exceed expectations. Our skilled staffing coordinators are ready to provide a rapid response 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to meet planned or urgent staffing needs.

Travel Nursing and Travel Allied
Nurses, technicians and therapists pack their bags and cover the miles to meet needs for 8-13 weeks or more while living in First Assist-provided furnished housing.

Per Diem
Hours, a day, or a few months, we facilitate the perfect local pairing.

Local Contract Staffing
Local contracts of eight or more weeks for nurses, technicians, radiology personnel and therapists of every discipline.

Temporary to Permanent
We'll give 13 weeks to evaluate whether our healthcare professional has a permanent place on staff.

Permanent Placement
We'll work with you to select the right employee to enhance your permanent staff.
